Oluremi Tinubu, a former first lady of Lagos State and a senator representing the Lagos Central Senatorial District in the Nigerian National Assembly, she was born on September 21, 1960, in Ogun State, Nigeria. She is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Pastor Oluremi Tinubu began her education at Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School in Ijebu-OdE, where she garnered her WASSCE in 1979 and her PGD from The Redeemed Christian Bible College in 2010
Tinubu graduated from the University of Ife with a B.S. in Education and the Adeyemi College of Education with a National Certificate of Education in Botany and Zoology.
When her husband, Bola Tinubu, was elected governor of Lagos State, Pastor Tinubu became the first lady of the state. She founded the New Era Foundation as first lady, with the goal of establishing centers for “all-round development of young people and public awareness on environmental health and community service.”
The election of Tinubu was challenged in the Legislative House Election Petition Tribunal, which convened in 2012 and upheld the election.

Tinubu was one of more than 100 senators elected in 2015’s 8th assembly. Six of them were female. Stella Oduah and Uche Ekwunife, both from Anambra, Fatimat Raji Rasaki, Rose Okoji Oko, and Binta Garba were among the others. [Nine] She was re-elected to her senatorial seat representing Lagos Central in the 2019 general elections, marking her third term in office.
Senator Tinubu requested adequate security from the Inspector General of Police in 2016 following an alleged threat of assault by colleague and fellow party member Dino Melaye during a closed-door Senate session.
In 2019, she was nominated for the Eko Excellence Awards alongside Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Tony Elumelu, and other notables. She proposed the creation of state police in 2020 as a means of combating the country’s rising insecurity.
Senator Tinubu proposed a bill in March 2021 to reform the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) and make it more viable. She was also honored as the most influential female senator at The Guardian’s 2021 International Women’s Day Summit.
Pastor Oluremi Tinubu has received numerous awards and honors, including: National award of the Officer of the Order of the Niger [OON], Member, Board of Trustees of Kings’ University, Ode-Omu; Ghana Noble International Award for Leadership (2004); and Gambian Diamond Award for Immense Contribution to the Liberation of People from Poverty (2005)

Bola Tinubu, the former Lagos State Governor and Senator, is married to Pastor Oluremi Tinubu. She is a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and is an ordained pastor.
In 2018, she was ordained at the RCCG’s Old Arena on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, where the church’s 66th annual convention, themed “Dominion,” was held. She also serves as the Grand Matron of the Lagos State Officials’ Wives Committee (COWLSO).
