Manchester City have opened negotiations for English and Aston Villa, 26 year old playmaker Jack Grealish.
Personal terms are not going to be much of a hassle between the City hierarchy and the player, the issue is whether the two clubs involved can settle on a fee that will suit both parties, according to respected journalist, Fabrizio.
Aston Villa have all the cards here. Grealish is on a long term contract so they have definitely no reason to sell. The club flirted with European places last season but ultimately fell short and with the addition of more players such as another playmaker in Emi Buendia, they are trying to remove the load from the shoulders of Grealish. Whether Grealish would be there to reap the benefits is another thing entirely.
The figure being mooted in the media is £100 million. That figure will break so many transfer records. Oil backed Manchester City are a free spending side but they will rather buy two £50 million players than spend it 1 player.
If Grealish does come in, then Bernardo Silva should be on his way out via the other side of the revolving door. Well, it’s a month to transfer deadline, a whole lot can still happen.
