‘The Blues’ showed true class and composure as they extended their league dominance with a thumping win against Tottenham Hotspur.
The First Goal of the Game came from a whooping Corner Kick from Marcos Alonso which was headed into Tottenham net by Chelsea Defender, Thiago Silva.
Marcos Alonso’s Strike which had beat Hugo Lloris was laid off by Eric Dier, it was surely a clear opportunity for Alonso to get on the Score Sheet.
Ngolo Kanté scored his first ever Club Goal since Late December 2019 – his Strike from outside the 18 yard Box took a huge deflection off Tottenham Defender to hit the Upright and then the back of the net.
On another Attack by the Blues, Kanté slipped a through ball to Timi Werner who missed the goal, the ball landed to Marcos Alonso – he still couldn’t steer it in, the ball landed to Mateo Kovacic who instead of Going for Goal crossed the ball over to Aziplicueta.
Aziplicueta’s Header was saved by Hugo Lloris and after all struggling in the box by the Chelsea attackers, The Spurs managed to clear their lines.
Another Strong Corner Kick by Marcos Alonso was weakly cleared by Tottenham as the ball landed to a Chelsea Midfielder who passed the ball to Timo Werner.
Werner delivered a low cross to Rudiger who shot a low ball to the bottom corner of the net.
Chelsea FC have only conceded one League Goal so far although they were faced off with huge fixtures against Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal. Next Weekend, Manchester City will face off with Chelsea in the bid to foil their great performance, it will be interesting to see which team leaves the Stanford Bridge with a Win.
It’s important to not that Jimmy Greaves was a former Chelsea and Tottenham Player, it was fitting for two of his former clubs to face off the day he died (Aged 81).
Tottenham Hotspur termed him ‘the finest marksman this country has ever seen’. Greaves was also part of the team that secured the World Cup for England in 1966.
