These successes were recorded by Customs operatives in November alone due to the renewed efforts to curb smuggling in the area.
The Nigerian Customs operatives have recently intensified efforts to uncover illegal trade routes along the borders particularly to check entry of concealed drugs and light weapons into Nigerian Markets through criminal means.
In this operation alone, the command was able to intercept 70 Million Naira cash meant for such illegal transactions along the borders.
The acting area controller of The Customs revealed that the influx of unregistered medicine into the country is immune as they are determined to deal with.
Similarly, Custom operatives apprehended 8 mobile cars with a duty paid value of 40 Million Naira and 281 bags of foreign rice among others.
The Command also used the medium to reassure Nigerians of it’s commitment to suppress smuggling by all means and call for more cooperation from the General Public for the good of the nation.
