Mahmud Yakubu, Chairman of the Nigerian Electoral Empire is to brief the House of Representatives on the cost of conducting Direct Primaries in the country.
This development follows rumors that 500 Billion Naira will be needed to carry out the exercise.
Controversies are still raging on the mode of Primary election to be adopted by political parties.
The National Assembly gave the note to Direct Primaries but some Governors have vigorously objected to this as Nigerians wait on President Muhammadu Buhari for ascent to the electoral act amendment bill.
The controversies have sure not abated, one of such is the rumor making the rounds that INEC will need not less than 500 Billion Naira to monitor the direct primaries.
