The Governor of Borno State has presented a budget estimate of over 267.9 Billion Naira to the State House of Assembly for the 2022 fiscal year.
In the presentation, the Governor pledged to consolidate on all that has been achieved in the year 2021.
The 2022 appropriation view is about 59.2 billion naira higher than the budget of the previous year which represents a 28.4% increase.
Presenting the Budget before the Lawmakers, Governor Babangana Zulum revealed that “it is a reflection of the 10-packed agenda of his administration in bringing shelter to the Borno state inhabitants who were hit by Boko Haram Insurgency”.
The 2022 proposed budget estimate of 267.9 Billion Naira has a recurrent expenditure of 95.3 Billion Naira with with a capital expenditure of 172.5 Billion Naira which is 64% out of the proposed budget.
The Ministry of Education, Finance, Health, reconstruction, rehabilitation and resettlement tops the bill.
“The 4-year tenure is actually short, we have limited time to make impact and as such, everyday should count towards discharging our obligations as leaders and servants of the peope”.
The Governor explained that strategies has been put in place to ensure the effective implementation of the proposed budget and harmonization of developmental projects part of which is effective service delivery to the people.
“Our Society has suffered and our people are suffering! we all have obligations to give our best of the best to move forward.”
